FRISCO - As we turn to week three of the preseason, things are about to pick up in pace with seven games (including reserve matches) scheduled between now and Feb. 17.

There are still a lot of questions surrounding the final FC Dallas roster that remain to be answered, but we got a few good ones we can discuss already in this week’s Mailbag.
“What are your thoughts on Paxton Pomykal getting the start on the left wing in last Saturday’s preseason game?” - Nathan Hill
I think Saturday was a test to see what Pomykal can bring in that wing role and what he looks like there. The plan is still to have the 18-year-old play centrally in a back-up role to Mauro Diaz, but it’s always nice to have options. There might be an opportunity to have him come off the bench in either role throughout the season and being able to cover two positions with one bench spot is invaluable week-in and week-out.

“Anton Nedyalkov seemed to have an edge about him in the Chattanooga friendly. Looked like he wanted to fight someone after he had a few late tackles on him. Is he gonna be the energy guy for this year’s team?” - Kenny Price
I definitely got a laugh early on in the match when Nedyalkov went chest-to-chest with a poor Chattanooga FC midfielder who probably saw a little bit of his life flash before his eyes. The Bulgarian is an imposing figure and after a few early (in the game) challenges against him, he quickly put the issue to rest. Absolutely he has an edge to him and I think we’ll see that going forward. He’s told me he likes to play a strong and physical game, and we’re just seeing the beginning of that.
