LINEUP NOTES, pres. by UnitedHealthcare: FC Dallas vs. Minnesota United | 5.15.21 -

3-5-2
After two consecutive games playing his prototypical 4-3-3 formation, Luchi has switched to a 3-5-2 for tonight's matchup with the Loons. FCD's two opening games also featured a three-man backline but those lineups also included a three-pronged attack. Instead, tonight's frontline features the duo of Franco Jara and Jáder Obrian, marking the first time Luchi has used a two-striker system this season.

Hedges Returns
Tonight's lineup also includes defender and captain Matt Hedges who returns to the starting XI for the first time in two matches since picking up an injury in San Jose. Hedges will play on the right side of FCD's three-man backline, allowing Bressan to slide over into the center with Spaniard José Martinez on the left.

Maurer
Although he was listed as questionable in FCD's injury report, goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer was healthy enough to make the trip to Minnesota and is available on the bench tonight. Maurer started Dallas' first two games but was forced to leave midway through the team's loss to San Jose after suffering a shoulder injury. Maurer's availability tonight is a huge boost since fellow goalkeeper Kyle Zobeck was ruled out of the trip with a quad strain.
