2021 Lineup Notes DL Dark

FRISCO, Texas - FC Dallas and Luchi Gonzalez make just one personnel change as the club takes on the Houston Dynamo in the first Texas Derby of the year this Saturday, May 8 at 2:30PM. Here's today's lineup notes, pres. by UnitedHealthcare.

LINEUP NOTES, pres. by UnitedHealthcare: FC Dallas vs Houston Dynamo | 5.8.21 -

Jara Starts
Forward Franco Jara will lead the line from the start today after coming off the bench in last week's 4-1 win over Portland Timbers. Jara scored in two separate Texas Derbies in 2020 and also found the net in Dallas' 3-0 preseason win over Houston last month.

Szabolcs Schön
Newcomer Szabolcs Schön only began training with FCD earlier this week but has shown enough to be included on the substitute bench today. The winger joined Dallas after spending three seasons with MTK Budapest in his native Hungary where he scored 12 goals in 44 league appearances. The 21-year-old enjoyed a strong 2020/21 campaign, registering nine goals and four assists in 27 games.

Maurer + Hedges on the Bench
Two weeks after suffering a shoulder injury against San Jose Earthquakes, goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer returns to the matchday squad and is available on the bench. The timing couldn't be better, either, because fellow 'keeper Kyle Zobeck (who was on the bench last week vs. Portland) is unavailable for today's match after picking up a quad strain. Defender and GOAT Matt Hedges also returns to the 20-man squad for today after missing out against Portland while dealing with ankle and hamstring issues.
