INTERNATIONAL: USL-Contracted Goalkeeper Carlos Avilez Called to Mexico U-20 Camp

FRISCO - FC Dallas Academy product and USL-contracted goalkeeper Carlos Avilez has been called in to the first Mexico U-20 National Team camp of 2018 by head coach Diego Ramirez.

Avilez is one of three goalkeepers on Mexico's roster and is seeing his first time with the U-20s after serving as the No. 1 netminder last year for the U-18 National Team. The U-20s will be released from camp on Thursday, January 25 at which point Avilez will join FC Dallas back in Frisco for preseason.


The first player to sign a USL deal with the club via its affiliation with OKC Energy FC, Avilez’s Homegrown rights are held by FCD should he sign a full-fledged Homegrown MLS contract in the future. He trains in Frisco with the first team during the and sees time with the U-19 Academy team during their U.S. Soccer Development Academy season.
