FRISCO, Texas- FC Dallas Academy defender Nico Carrera has been called up to the U.S. U-17s Youth National Team.
Nico Carrera was called up earlier this year at the end of July for a National Team Camp as well, making it his second call-up this season. Carrera has scored five goals in 33 appearances so far with the FC Dallas Academy and made his professional debut for North Texas Soccer Club this season against Toronto FC II on June 12.
With this call-up Carrera is also committing to the U.S. Men's National Team. Up until this point he had the option between the Mexican National Team and the U.S. Youth National Team. This mean's that if called up for the World Cup he would be representing the United States.
The U.S. U-17s Men's National Team will play Mexico on September 5th, the Netherlands on September 7th, and Denmark on September 9th. All the games will take place in the Netherlands.
