FRISCO - FC Dallas Homegrown Chris Richards has made his international debut with the U.S. U-20 National Team.
The defender was called in to the squad for the first time for a 12-day camp, ending with two matches in Honduras against the host country. Richards started the second match of the week, helping the team defeat Honduras 3-0 on the road.
The matchups mark the first time the USA has faced Honduras since the 2017 Concacaf U-20 Championship final, in which the previous U-20 MNT cycle defeated Honduras in penalty kicks toclaim the first regional title for the U.S. U-20 program.
Richards was signed as the 22nd Homegrown in club history on April 12. The defender has spent the 10 days prior to U-20 camp on a training stint with FC Bayern Munich as part of the youth development partnership between the two clubs.
