Injury Report - FCD v CHI

FRISCO – Injury concerns won’t be an issue for either side on Thursday night in Bridgeview, Illinois, with no new injuries to report for Chicago or Dallas ahead of their midweek clash.

Chicago Fire

OUT: John Goossens (right ankle).

The Dutch midfielder badly injured his ankle during stoppage time of Chicago’s first game of the season, and was ruled out for five to six months after undergoing surgery in March. The injury was unfortunate for the second-year MLS player, who made 24 appearances last season and scored three goals.

FC Dallas

OUT: Mauro Diaz (Achilles tendon), Paxton Pomykal (knee surgery).

He’s back in full training, but Mauro Diaz is still working on his match fitness before he will be able to get back into a game. The Argentine is two appearances away from his 80th with FC Dallas, although his return will have to wait.

Last Thursday’s successful surgery for Paxton Pomykal has the FC Dallas homegrown product on the mend for the time being. A timetable of about four to five weeks is expected for his recovery.
