Homegrown defender Nolan Norris is away representing FC Dallas at the FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile with the U.S. Men's National Team. The U.S. enjoyed a strong start and topped their group after recording wins over New Caledonia (a 9-1 victory in which Norris scored twice) and France before falling 2-1 to South Africa, a game that saw U.S. head coach Marko Mitrovic rotate his team with qualification already secured.
To begin the knockout rounds, the Americans soundly defeated Italy 3-0 in the Round of 16 on Oct. 9. Norris started the game at left back and was involved in the opening goal when he put a header on frame off a corner only for the goalkeeper to parry it into the path of Benjamin Cremaschi to stab home. The win moves the U.S. into the quarterfinals where they'll face Morocco on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 3 p.m. CT.
