FRISCO, Texas (Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016) – FC Dallas midfielder Kellyn Acosta is joining the U.S. Men’s National Team in Washington, D.C. this weekend as the team prepares to face New Zealand at RFK Stadium on Tuesday, Oct. 11.
The 21-year-old is one of six players added to the roster after the team’s 2-0 win against Cuba on Friday, including Juan Agudelo, Matt Belser, Terrence Boyd, Bill Hamid, Tim Parker and Michael Orozco. Meanwhile 10 players have returned to their clubs:  John Brooks, Geoff Cameron, Timmy Chandler, Ethan Horvath, Fabian Johnson, Jordan Morris, Christian Pulisic, Chris Wondolowski, Bobby Wood and DeAndre Yedlin.

With the changes, the U.S. roster stands at 18 players for Tuesday’s match against New Zealand. The game will air live at 7 p.m. CT on ESPN and UniMas. Acosta, who made his senior international debut earlier this year, recently earned his first start in a World Cup Qualifier, helping the U.S. to a 6-0 win over St. Vincent and the Grenadines in September.

Acosta will rejoin FC Dallas following Tuesday’s friendly. FC Dallas returns to league play on Sunday, Oct. 16, when the league leaders host Seattle Sounders FC at Toyota Stadium for Fan Appreciation Day presented by Papa John’s. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. CT in the Sunday afternoon tilt.
