Fan-created banners and tifos are an undeniable part of the soccer culture. Visual displays provide fans a medium to support their club in fun, clever and creative ways. FC Dallas is encouraging all fans to get creative with our 2012 Banner Year contest.
In 2012, five fan-created banners will be selected to line the blue wall that surrounds the pitch at FC Dallas Stadium for every FC Dallas home game. At the end of the season, the five chosen banners will be autographed by the entire FC Dallas team and returned to the creator for a memorable souvenir of the 2012 season.
Fans who wish to enter the contest can either create their banner at home or submit a design concept to the FC Dallas front office to be printed. Not all designs submitted to the front office will be chosen for printing. All entries should be no larger than three feet tall by 19 feet wide (3 ft. x 19 ft.).
Creating a banner at home
To submit a home-made banner, just e-mail a picture of the completed banner to edavila@fcdallas.net by 5 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Feb. 29 with the designer’s full name, phone number and e-mail address included in the body of the e-mail. Incomplete or incorrect submissions will not be eligible for consideration.
Submitting a design for print
Design submissions must be no smaller than one quarter (1/4) scale and submitted in a high resolution .jpg, .jpeg or .pdf format no larger than 10 megabytes in size. Designs must be submitted via e-mail to edavila@fcdallas.net by 5 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Feb. 29 with the design as an attachment. The designer’s full name, phone number and e-mail address must be included in the body of the e-mail. Incomplete or incorrect submissions will not be eligible for consideration.
The five winning banners will be selected and announced on Thursday, March 1 and will hang on the wall at FC Dallas Stadium during every home game of the 2012 season before being autographed by the team and returned to the creator at the end of the year.
