FRISCO, Texas - FC Dallas' U-16s have advanced to the Generation Adidas Cup semifinals for the second year in a row, but now they will have to win against one of South America's best academies to make the Final.
FCD's Academy will face Club Universidad de Chile's U-17s at 8:15 PM CT on Thursday at Toyota Stadium. The Chilean squad defeated Columbus Crew 1-0 in their final match to earn the first place in Group 'C'. Before that, "La U" had defeated Spanish side Villareal on penalty kicks and San Jose Earthquakes (3-1) to end up with 8 points -and unbeaten- in the Group Stage. The second semifinal will feature Villareal and Argentinian side River Plate who will play before FCD's match, at 6:15 PM CT on Thursday.
