FRISCO, Texas (Friday, Aug. 28) – Blas Perez (Panama), Tesho Akindele (Canada), Moises Hernandez (Guatemala) and Je-Vaughn Watson (Jamaica) will report to their respective national teams following FC Dallas’ match tomorrow against Real Salt Lake at Toyota Stadium.
Perez, 34, is in line for his 97th cap with the Panamanian National Team. FC Dallas’ leading scorer in each of the past three seasons, he equaled his MLS high last season with 11 goals in 29 appearances. Perez has five goals this season. He ranks third all-time in FCD history with 36 goals in 90 appearances.
Akindele, 23, captured the 2014 MLS Rookie of the Year award by scoring seven times last season. He has three goals and an assist in nine starts for FC Dallas this season. Akindele debuted for Canada in a World Cup qualifying match against Dominica on June 11, 2015. He scored in his second international match, a 4-0 win against Dominica at BMO Field on June 16.
Hernandez, 23, has been capped six times this year by the Guatemalan National Team. Born in Dallas, Texas, Hernandez was signed by the FC Dallas first team on July 30, 2010, shortly after he graduated from Seagoville High School in Southeast Dallas. He has picked up two assists in 11 MLS starts this season.
Watson, 31, has earned 29 caps with the Jamaican National Team since his debut in 2008. The versatile midfielder/defender has scored six goals and added four assists in 57 starts for Dallas since being acquired in a trade with the Houston Dynamo on Feb. 19, 2013.
Watson has started 13 matches for FC Dallas this season.
