#FCDvRSL: Roland Lamah Nets First Professional Hat Trick, Fastest in Franchise History

FRISCO - It took him just about 13 years, but Roland Lamah netted his first professional hat trick.

Lamah’s hat-trick was at the center of a powerful offensive night for FC Dallas as the home team downed Real Salt Lake 6-2 at Toyota Stadium. Lamah netted all his goals in the opening 31 minutes of the game, making him the holder of the fastest hat trick in franchise history and second fastest in MLS history.

He now holds four goals on the season.

“I feel happy, we took three points,” Lamah said. “It’s really a special moment. My teammates helped me. I’m so happy. So happy.”

With a goal last week at Chicago and now a hat trick, it appears as if Lamah is starting to grow more comfortable to MLS.

He would agree.

“I feel good,” Lamah said. “I know it’s not easy to go and play. I feel good now and I think keep going. This is not finished. The season is long. I know I can score and give assists. I just have to be confident.”

Lamah’s first goal came in the eighth minute when he was on the receiving end of a Michael Barrios cross to make it 1-0. He scored again in the 22ndminute when Maxi Urruti found the winger wide-open in the box for an easy finish.

He completed his hat-trick in minute 31. A long ball forward from Carlos Gruezo slipped past the Real Salt Lake back-line allowing Lamah to run free. He converted for 3-0 and the fastest hat trick in franchise history.

“It is a great sign for sure,” head coach Oscar Pareja said. “I thought he was very clinical and very precise with finishing. Seeing him scoring three goals today gives us a lot of hope in what is coming for the future.”
