Head coach Richie Wiliams has called in a 44-player training camp in preparation for the Copa de Mexico de Naciones beginning on August 7 in Mexico City. Three FC Dallas players, Weston McKinnie, Alejandro Zendejas and Eric Torres will represent FCD at the camp, tied with LA Galaxy and New York Red Bulls for the most of any team.
CHICAGO (July 24, 2013) – Members of the U-15 Boys’ National Team will convene at the U.S. Soccer’s National Training Center in Carson, Calif. for the last training camp before players born in 1998 are eligible for the U-17 age group.
The squad will take part in Copa de Mexico de Naciones beginning on Aug. 7 and running through Aug. 19 in Mexico City.
The camp is headed by U-17 Men’s National Team Head Coach Richie Williams.
Williams will also use the camp to scout the next crop of players vying for a spot on the U-17 roster for the next FIFA U-17 World Cup cycle.
Of the 44 players in attendance, 27 are currently members of Development Academy teams.
