FRISCO, Texas – One of the benefits of being on the FC Dallas Special Olympics team, supported by Globe Life, are the benefits of a program that provides training, competitions and social experiences for individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families. On Tuesday evening, the 2017 team got to train with the pros as they practiced with the likes of Kellyn Acosta, Maxi Urruti, and the first team.
In July, midfielder Alex Ortiz traveled to Chicago with his coach, Kyle Schroeder and represented FC Dallas at the Special Olympics All-Star Soccer Match presented by MLS WORKS & ESPN. The team also traveled together to Philadelphia on August 5 to play against Philadelphia's Unified team, but fell short of the win. Their next game will at home at Toyota Stadium on September 2nd.
