FC Dallas has arguably the best young core of attacking talent in MLS, but as one wise veteran officially departs the club, another is added in Mauro Rosales.

Now in the twilight of his storied career that has had stops at Ajax and River Plate, Oscar Pareja sees the value in adding a sage like Rosales as FCD targets MLS Cup in 2016.

“I think he’s a player who knows the job very well and has been involved in this game for many years and he has experience and will mold into what we like to have in our group,” Pareja said. “He’s another versatile player and has an opportunity to keep growing the youngsters and have that core of veterans that can help us in other departments.”

Having made 24 appearances for Vancouver Whitecaps FC last season, there’s certainly something still left in the tank of the Argentine who has already been with FCD for a week.

“He can play on the wing or in the middle. He can help us a lot in creating options to score, he’s a great crosser,” Pareja said. “He’s a player who has skill on dead balls and can contribute on set plays and as I said in our young core of players that we have I think he can play an excellent role in the locker room and on the field too.”
