The FC Dallas WPSL side, coached by Ben Waldrum, kicked off its inaugural season on May 21 with an 8-0 win over the Texas Titans. The team features 2015 Women’s World Cup veteran Monica Alvarado (Mexico) and boasts more than 100 international appearances between Alvarado and Trinidad & Tobago internationals Rhea Belgrave, Karyn Forbes and Victoria Swift. Dallas currently sits one point out of first place in the Western Conference and Supporters’ Shield standings with 26 points and an 8-4-2 record, while Houston is last in the West with 12 points (3-7-2).
