FRISCO, Texas – FC Dallas U-19 boys fell 2-1 to La Roca during the Dallas Cup Final at Toyota Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

A third-minute red card prevented the first goal scoring chance as FC Dallas forward Taylor Davis took a touch and raced towards a one-on-one with the keeper before being taken out by La Roca’s Lucas Facharell. Facharell received the red card for denying a goal scoring opportunity but the momentum following the sendoff favored the Utah squad.

FC Dallas midfielder Reagan Tubbs cleared a header off his own line from a headed corner kick in the 18th minute to keep the scoresheet clean.

La Roca took the lead in the 42nd minute when their forwards linked up for the first goal. Naime Odeh’s floating cross found Braden Bennett who headed in the pass to make it 1-0.

The second half saw the two forwards connect once more as Odeh drove to the right end line and flicked in a cross and Bennett once again secured the goal with a header.

FC Dallas turned up the pressure the final third of the match controlling the possession and outshooting La Roca down the stretch. The lead was cut down to 2-1 in the 69th minute when FC Dallas turned an end-to-end possession into a goal. Taylor Davis flicked a heel pass to Eduardo Perez who shuffled the ball to an open Eduardo Cerno for the finish.

La Roca’s goalkeeper Hayden Poll came up strong for the Utah squad down the stretch with three big saves on chances near his goal.
