The FC Dallas U-17 Academy team (formerly referred to as the U-16 team) is right back to work, competing in the Liga MX Internacional tournament in Mexico City before their 2017-18 campaign kicks off in just a few weeks.
The tournament pits the four top MLS Academy sides against four of the best from Liga MX, playing seven games in nine days with the two top group-stage finishers playing in the tournament Final on Saturday, Aug. 26 at Estadio Azteca.
After a week-long training camp in Monterrey, Mexico a week ago, head coach Luchi Gonzalez took a roster of 20 players to the tournament, headlined by Homegrown Bryan Reynolds and his incoming U-17 roster for the upcoming U.S. Soccer DA season. All players are 2001 birth years except for Diego Letayf (2002) and Dante Sealy (2003) playing up for the tournament and possibly the season.
