FRISCO, Texas – FC Dallas will host Y2K and Alumni Night presented by Chick-fil-A on Saturday, Sept. 26, when the club takes on LAFC at Toyota Stadium. The celebration will feature the return of five Early Hoops Era legends: David Ferreira, Zach Loyd, Dax McCarty, Ronnie O’Brien and Carlos Ruiz.
FC DALLAS LEGENDS RETURN TO TOYOTA STADIUM
These five FC Dallas legends combined for over 600 appearances and were among the names that helped establish the club's new identity following its move into Toyota Stadium in 2005. They will return to Frisco for Saturday’s celebration:
- David Ferreira (2009-13, 120 games) – Former attacking midfielder who led FC Dallas to the 2010 Western Conference Championship and an MLS Cup final appearance while earning MLS MVP honors.
- Zach Loyd (2010-16, 207 games) – Former defender who helped FC Dallas reach the 2010 MLS Cup as a rookie and ranks among the top five players in club history in games played and minutes.
- Dax McCarty (2006-10, 101 games) – Former midfielder who played the first four of his 19 MLS seasons with FC Dallas after joining the club in the 2006 MLS SuperDraft and helped Dallas reach the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and MLS Cup finals.
- Ronnie O'Brien (2002-06, 109 games) – Former midfielder who ranks sixth in FC Dallas history in assists and was named to three MLS All-Star teams and two MLS Best XIs during his five seasons with the club.
- Carlos Ruiz (2005-07, 2016, 82 games) – Former striker who ranks eighth in FC Dallas history in goals and helped the club win the 2016 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup and MLS Supporters' Shield.
The club legends will:
- Light the Shield during pregame ceremonies
- Participate in the First Toast at the East Club
- Be available for select media interviews before the match
