FC Dallas announces full broadcast plan for 2021 season

Frisco, TX (April 8, 2021) â€“ FC Dallas announced its 2021 broadcast plans today which include  regular season games scheduled to air on TXA 21, FCDTV Network stations in Amarillo (KCPN/My Amarillo TV) and Lubbock (KMYL/My Lubbock TV) and the club’s newly announced Spanish-language TV partner, KMPX-29. Five of FC Dallas’ games will be featured on national television, with three on Univision, one on FS1 and one on UniMás. 


TXA 21 kicks off its coverage of FC Dallas’ 26th season at 7:00PM CT on Saturday, April 17, 2021 as FC Dallas hosts Michael Barrios, Kellyn Acosta and the Colorado Rapids in the season opener presented by MTX. Pregame coverage for that match begins at 6:30PM CT. TXA 21 has been the English TV home for FC Dallas matches since the 2015 season.

 Other highlights of TXA 21’s broadcast schedule include:


  • FC Dallas’ return to Portland on July 17 in a rematch of FCD’s thrilling 2020 playoff win over the Timbers
  • Austin FC’s inaugural trip to Toyota Stadium on Saturday, August 7
  • Dallas’ first trip to rival Houston Dynamo FC on Saturday, August 21


Mark Followill returns for his 10th season as the television play-by-play announcer for most TXA 21 and FCDTV broadcasts. Owen Newkirk will provide play-by-play in Followill’s absence. Longtime soccer journalist Steve Davis will join Followill and Newkirk in the broadcast booth.

Streaming Presented by Toyota

Streaming, which is presented by Toyota, is only available to residents in the Dallas/Fort Worth viewing area and in FCDTV Network markets. Spanish Language Broadcasts on Estrella’s KMPX-29

All locally televised matches will be available in Spanish on Estrella Media’s KMPX-29 in the Dallas/Fort Worth market. The EstrellaTV Deportés team for the Spanish-language telecasts will be shared between several veteran sportscasters, including Francisco X. Rivera as well as legendary former players Claudio “El Emperador” Suarez and Martin “El Pulpo” Zuñiga.


Pre- and Postgame Broadcast Coverage
Starting 30 minutes prior to kick, FC Dallas Live presented by Toyota will provide up-to-the-minute pregame coverage for all locally televised matches at Toyota Stadium on TXA 21 and FCDTV Network stations. Gina Miller serves as the show’s host.

FC Dallas Extra Time presented by Toyota provides postgame coverage of FC Dallas’ locally televised home matches. The shows can be found at FCDallas.com/Stream as well as on FC Dallas’ official Facebook page.  


Watching FC Dallas Matches Outside of the DFW Market

Viewers outside of Dallas/Fort Worth, Amarillo and Lubbock designated market areas may enjoy locally televised FC Dallas matches on ESPN+ with an ESPN+ subscription. As a reminder, national broadcasts are not available on ESPN+.


Radio
All of FC Dallas’ regular-season games can be heard in English on FCDallas.com.com/Radio with Tyler Kern providing pre- and postgame coverage. Matches in Spanish can be heard on Univision DeportĂ©s (1270 AM) with Carlos Alvarado returning for his 26th season in the booth. Rafa Calderon joins him as the color analyst.

Attending Matches at Toyota Stadium


Attendance for matches played at Toyota Stadium in April and May will be limited to 50% of normal capacity. Tickets to those matches (April 17 vs Colorado, May 1 vs Portland, May 15 vs Minnesota United FC and May 22 vs Real Salt Lake) are extremely limited.
