FC Dallas Homegrown Trio Called into U.S. U-23 Men’s National Team Camp

FC Dallas players have earned three UnitedHealthcare International Call-ups this year

FRISCO, Texas (Jan. 5, 2021) – FC Dallas Homegrowns Jesús Ferreira, Bryan Reynolds and Tanner Tessmann have been called in by head coach Jason Kreis to represent the U.S. U-23 Men’s National Team in the upcoming training camp at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla.


The camp will gather for the first time since the suspension of the Concacaf Men’s Olympic Qualifying Championship ten months ago. Kreis will use this opportunity to build and evaluate the roster ahead of the resumption of the qualifying tournament in March.


The U-23’s will train alongside 12 U.S. Men’s National Team players from January 9-24 at which point several U-23 players will be elevated to the full USMNT roster in advanced of a planned friendly at the end of the month.


Ferreira, 20, earns his fifth call up to the United States National Team program. He participated in his first U.S. Men’s National Team camp last January after becoming a U.S. citizen on Dec. 16, 2019 and made his senior team debut in the 1-0 win against Costa Rica on Feb. 1, 2020. Ferreira appeared in 19 matches for FC Dallas during the 2020 season and recorded one goal and one assist.


Reynolds, 19, earns his first call up to the U-23 Men’s National Team after being called up to various U.S. Youth National Team camps in the past. Reynolds was the youngest player on the U.S. U-17 team during the Concacaf Championship in 2017. He also represented the United States in the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup in India, where he played the final nine minutes in the 4-1 loss quarterfinals match against England. Reynolds started in 14 out of 17 regular season appearances and recorded three assists during the 2020 season.


Tessmann, 19, earns his first call up to the U-23 Men’s National Team. He signed with FC Dallas as the club’s 28th Homegrown Player on Feb. 27, 2020 and made his MLS debut two days later in Dallas’ season opener against the Philadelphia Union. Tessmann appeared in 19 matches for FC Dallas during the 2020 season and recorded his first MLS assist in the 2-0 win against the Union. Tessmann was last called up to the U.S. U-20 Men’s National Team in September 2019.
