FRISCO - After his six-save performance in Philadelphia, FC Dallas goalkeeper Jimmy Maurer was named to MLS Team of the Week for Week 6.
In his first league start of 2019, the veteran made the second-most stops of any goalkeeper in Week 6 and kept Dallas in the match on several occasions in the second half. Two of the biggest came from a diving stop on David Accam from point-blank range in the 57th minute and blocking Marco Fabian's PK attempt in the 85th minute.
Coupled with taking a cleat to the temple and needing to finish the match with a bandage around his head, it's easy to see why Maurer was selected as the best 'keeper on the weekend.
