FRISCO – On Wednesday, the FC Dallas’ Girls Academy will begin their run at the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Winter Showcase to Lakewood Ranch, Florida, running from Dec. 6-Dec. 10.
The Winter Showcase, in its eleventh year running and gives an opportunity for the top academies across the nation to compete against other top talents they would not normally face in their regular season schedule. It is, however, the first edition of the showcase for the newly-launched Girls' Academy.
The U-15 Dallas will open the tournament for the Texan club on Wednesday, Dec. 6th against Sky Blue, before facing Reign Academy the next day and closing the tournament against NTH Tophat on Saturday. The U-15s have lost just one match in the regular season, winning their last ten matches.
The U-17 side comes into the tournament having won 11 of their 12 games in the regular season. The Winter Showcase will provide Matthew Grubb’s side stiff competition coming from all over the nation, as they face Sky Blue, LA Galaxy San Diego, and New York City FC throughout the tournament.
Having lost two of their last three matches, the U-19 squad will look to bounce back from recent results and make a strong showing at the Winter Showcase. They will face Legends FC, Reign Academy, and Washington Spirit Academy.
