Much like the FC Dallas Boys Academy, the FC Dallas Girls Academy is among the top development systems in the nation and has produced a number of top-level professionals and international stars. To celebrate their successes, every other month we’ll check in on some of the Girls Academy graduates to see how they’re progressing at the pro level. This is the Alumni Update, presented by MoneyGram.

This month, we’ll get to know the following seven players and learn about their journeys so far: Diana Ordoñez, Jaedyn Shaw, Trinity Armstrong, Reyna Reyes, Taryn Torres, Maya McCutcheon and Hannah Anderson.

Diana Ordoñez

Prosper native Diana Ordoñez has enjoyed a great start with new club Tigres UANL, scoring 10 goals in just 13 games in Liga MX Femenil. Ordoñez got her start with the FC Dallas Girls’ Academy where she won an ECNL national championship before going on to excel at the University of Virginia. Drafted sixth overall by the North Carolina Courage in 2022, Ordoñez set an NWSL rookie scoring record before being traded to the Houston Dash, where she became a regular starter. From there, the 23-year-old transferred to Tigres UANL in Liga MX Femenil ahead of the 2025/26 season. Internationally, she represents Mexico and has scored 10 goals in 29 caps for El Tri – including a game-winner against Colombia on July 2.

Jaedyn Shaw

Jaedyn Shaw made headlines in September when Gotham FC spent $1.25 million to sign her from the North Carolina Courage, a record-breaking deal in the National Women’s Soccer League. Shaw has already gone on to repay some of that transfer fee by scoring on her debut in a 2-0 win over San Diego Wave FC on Sept. 12. She followed it up with an assist three games later in a resounding 3-0 defeat of the Portland Thorns. Even before her record-breaking transfer, Shaw was widely considered one of the most promising young players in the U.S. Women’s National Team pool. Having developed in both the FC Dallas Girls Academy where she won a U15 national championship, Shaw went on to sign a pro contract with San Diego Wave of the NWSL at just 17 years old. A dynamic forward, Shaw scored on her debut for the USWNT at just 18 years old.

Trinity Armstrong

Trinity Armstrong continues to be a full-time starter for the San Diego Wave despite her young age. Still just 18, she has started 17 of the Wave’s 22 games and helped them reach 7th in the NWSL table. Prior to her pro career, Armstrong starred in the FC Dallas Girls Academy, earning ECNL All-American honors before moving to Bradenton, Florida to attend the prestigious IMG Academy. Following one stellar season at the collegiate level with North Carolina, the then 17-year-old signed her first pro contract with San Diego where she’s become a key part of the team’s backline and was named in the NWSL Best XI for May – becoming the youngest player to ever do so. Internationally, Armstrong captained the USWNT U17s to a third-place finish at the FIFA U17 World Cup in 2024 and was nominated for U.S. Soccer’s Young Female Athlete of the Year.

Reyna Reyes

Reyna Reyes has been a key player for the Portland Thorns in 2025. The 24-year-old has made 21 starts along the Thorns’ backline while also contributing on the offensive end with three goals and one assist. Through 22 games, Portland sits in 6th place in the NWSL. A Mexico international, Reyes developed at FC Dallas before competing for the Alabama Crimson Tide. A native of Garland, Texas, Reyes enjoyed a standout collegiate career scoring 16 goals and winning 2022 SEC Defender of the Year, in addition to finishing as a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy – college soccer’s highest honor. After playing 79 times for the Crimson Tide, Reyes was selected fifth overall in 2023 NWSL SuperDraft by Portland. Internationally, Reyes has represented Mexico’s senior national team on 16 occasions.

Taryn Torres

A Gotham FC teammate of Jayden Shaw, Taryn Torres also competed for FC Dallas Girls Academy before committing to play for the University of Virginia. With the Cavaliers, Torres played 100 games, scored 14 goals and earned all-ACC honors three times. The midfielder was then selected 23rd overall in the 2021 NWSL Draft by Gotham FC where she’s gone on to make over 30 appearances, including 15 this season.

Maya McCutcheon

A Murphy, Texas native, McCutcheon helped the FC Dallas Girls Academy win an ECNL National Championship in 2017 before going on to compete for the Oklahoma Sooners and West Virginia Mountaineers at the collegiate level. At the professional level, McCutcheon initially lined up for Wellington Phoenix FC in the A-League Women before transferring to Dallas Trinity FC where she’s started all six games to begin the 2025/26 season.

Hannah Anderson

Center back Hannah Anderson finished off her youth career at FC Dallas before enrolling at Texas Tech where she played five decorated seasons. In her final collegiate season, Anderson was a MAC Hermann Award semifinalist, a United Soccer Coaches Association First Team All-American, Top Drawer Third Team All-American, CSC First Team All-American and the 2023 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. The Plano native was drafted by Chicago Stars FC and played 17 games her rookie season, earning a three-contract extension along the way. In 2025, Anderson has featured nine times for 14th-place Chicago.
