Much like the FC Dallas Boys Academy, the FC Dallas Girls Academy is among the top development systems in the nation and has produced a number of top-level professionals and international stars. To celebrate their successes, every other month we’ll check in on some of the Girls Academy graduates to see how they’re progressing at the pro level. This is the Alumni Update, presented by MoneyGram.
This month, we’ll get to know the following seven players and learn about their journeys so far: Diana Ordoñez, Jaedyn Shaw, Trinity Armstrong, Reyna Reyes, Taryn Torres, Maya McCutcheon and Hannah Anderson.

Diana Ordoñez
Now a Mexico international, Diana Ordoñez is a Prosper native and product of the FC Dallas Girls Academy. After winning an ECNL national championship with FC Dallas, she went on to excel at the University of Virginia, finishing as one of the program’s top scorers. Drafted sixth overall by the North Carolina Courage in 2022, Ordoñez set an NWSL rookie scoring record before being traded to the Houston Dash, where she became a consistent contributor. Just last week, the 23-year-old transferred to Tigres UANL in Liga MX Femenil. Internationally, she represents Mexico and has scored 10 goals in 29 caps for El Tri – including a game-winner against Colombia on July 2.
Jaedyn Shaw
Frisco native Jaedyn Shaw is one of the most promising young players in the U.S. Women’s National Team pool. Having developed in the FC Dallas Girls Academy where she won a U15 national championship, Shaw went on to sign a pro contract with San Diego Wave of the NWSL at just 17 years old. A dynamic forward, Shaw scored on her debut for the USWNT at just 18 years old. In the two years since, Shaw has accumulated eight goals in 26 total caps and moved club teams, joining the North Carolina Courage at the start of 2025.
Trinity Armstrong
San Diego Wave defender Trinity Armstrong starred in the FC Dallas Girls Academy, earning ECNL All-American honors before moving to Bradenton, Florida to attend the prestigious IMG Academy. Following one stellar season at the collegiate level with North Carolina, the 17-year-old signed her first pro contract with the San Diego Wave where she’s become a key part of the team’s backline and was named in the NWSL Best XI for May – becoming the youngest player to ever do so. Internationally, Armstrong captained the USWNT U17s to a third-place finish at the FIFA U17 World Cup in 2024 and was nominated for U.S. Soccer’s Young Female Athlete of the Year.
Reyna Reyes
Mexico international Reyna Reyes developed at FC Dallas before competing for the Alabama Crimson Tide. A native of Garland, Texas, Reyes enjoyed a standout collegiate career scoring 16 goals and winning 2022 SEC Defender of the Year, in addition to finishing as a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy – college soccer’s highest honor. After playing 79 times for the Crimson Tide, Reyes was selected fifth overall in 2023 NWSL SuperDraft by the Portland Thorns where she’s gone on to play over 50 matches. Internationally, Reyes has represented Mexico’s senior national team on 16 occasions.
Taryn Torres
Another Frisco native, Taryn Torres competed for FC Dallas Girls Academy before committing to play for the University of Virginia. With the Cavaliers, Torres played 100 games, scored 14 goals and earned all-ACC honors three times. The midfielder was then selected 23rd overall in the 2021 NWSL Draft by Gotham FC where she’s gone on to make over 30 appearances, including 11 this season.
Maya McCutcheon
A Murphy, Texas native, Maya McCutcheon helped the FC Dallas Girls Academy win an ECNL National Championship in 2017 before going on to compete for the Oklahoma Sooners and West Virginia Mountaineers at the collegiate level. At the professional level, McCutcheon previously lined up for Wellington Phoenix FC in the A-League Women (Australia’s top division) but has recently signed for local club Dallas Trinity FC of the USL Super League.
Hannah AndersonCenter back Hannah Anderson finished off her youth career at FC Dallas before enrolling at Texas Tech where she played five decorated seasons. In her final collegiate season, Anderson was a MAC Hermann Award semifinalist, a United Soccer Coaches Association First Team All-American, Top Drawer Third Team All-American, CSC First Team All-American and the 2023 Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. The Plano native was drafted by Chicago Stars FC and played 17 games her rookie season, earning a three-contract extension along the way.
