FRISCO, Texas (August 6, 2023) – FC Dallas fell 5-3 to Inter Miami CF in penalty kicks after a 4-4 regulation match. The loss eliminated Dallas from the Leagues Cup competition on Sunday evening at Toyota Stadium. 

DON FACUNDO QUIGNONThe Argentinian midfielder did not hesitate to take the shot that resulted in his first Leagues Cup goal. The goal reignited FC Dallas’ comeback against the Inter Miami team. Quignon’s performance throughout the center of the pitch allowed the team to limit opportunities for the visitors. 

THE ABILENE DREAM LIVES
Forward Bernard Kamungo scored the second goal of the match in the 45th minute. It is Kamungo’s second Leagues Cup  goal, tying him with Eugene Ansah, Sebastian Lletget and Alan Velasco for the most Dallas goals during the competition. 

FOUR SCORE
The last time FC Dallas scored four goals across any competition was in a win against the San Jose Earthquakes  during MLS regular season play nearly on August 13, 2022.

Alan Velasco scored his second Leagues Cup goal and his fourth across all competitions. Four of tonight’s eight goals were scored by an Argentine player.
