FC Dallas Defeats Houston Dynamo FC 2-0 in First Leg of the Texas Derby

FRISCO, Texas (April 27, 2024) – FC Dallas (2-5-2, 8 points) earned its second win of the season at home against Texas Derby rival Houston Dynamo FC (4-4-1, 13 points). Petar Musa and Sebastien Ibeagha were on the scoresheet for FC Dallas.

MUUUUUUUUSAAAA
Forward Petar Musa scored a goal in his second consecutive match to give Dallas its first lead in 316 minutes. The Designated Player netted his second goal at Toyota Stadium, his first in the Texas Derby. Musa leads Dallas with three goals this season.

DEFENDING AND SCORING
Defender Sebastien Ibeagha scored the second goal of the night for FC Dallas in the 80th minute. This is his second MLS goal, both coming as a member of FC Dallas.

PAES SHUTOUT
Goalkeeper Maarten Paes recorded his third shutout in the past four games, the first without recording a save. Paes moved up the Dallas record books into fifth place for most career shutouts (18), breaking the tie with Chris Seitz.

FC Dallas Homegrown Jesús Ferreira returned to action subbing into the game during the 67th minute. Ferreira last featured for Dallas on March 16 against Vancouver Whitecaps FC at Toyota Stadium. Ferreira becomes the FC Dallas’ all-time Homegrown leader in appearances with 145.

THE RETURN OF FARFAN
FC Dallas defender Marco Farfan made his 2024 MLS season debut tonight. Farfan, who has started 66 games the previous two seasons, had been out for the first eight matches this year.

KEEP THE GOOD TIMES ROLLIN’
FC Dallas recorded its fifth consecutive sellout of the 2024 season. This marks the first time in club history that FC Dallas has sold out Toyota Stadium in its first five home games of the regular season.
