FC Dallas and Real Salt Lake Play to a 2-2 Draw

FC Dallas travels to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park to face the Colorado Rapids on Saturday, May 29 at 8PM CT

Frisco, TX (May 22, 2021) – FC Dallas (1-2-3, 6 points) draw 2-2 with Real Salt Lake (2-1-2, 8 points) with goals from Franco Jara and Ryan Hollingshead in the 43rd and 84th minute Saturday evening at Toyota Stadium.


Game Summary
First Half:
20’ – Rubio Rubín’s left-footed shot from the left side of the box beats Jimmy Maurer to give Real Salt Lake the 1-0 lead.
29’ – Andrés Ricaurte’s corner kick was met by José Antonio Martínez, and his headed attempt was punched out by David Ochoa.
30’ – Freddy Vargas recovered the ball on the left hand side of the field which he transitioned into the box and his right-footed shot was punched away.
39’ – Bryan Acosta’s left-footed shot inside of the box was pushed over the crossbar by Ochoa for a corner kick.
43’ – Franco Jara scored his first goal of the season after sending Ochoa the wrong way from the penalty spot to level the match at 1-1.


Second Half
54’ – Jara connected with Vargas outside the edge of the box, and his shot was punched away by Ochoa. 

75’ – Paxton Pomykal’s right-footed shot inside of the box was deflected by a defender out for a corner kick. 

84’ – Ryan Hollingshead dribbled his way past two defenders into the box and his right-footed shot ended in the top right corner to give FC Dallas the 2-1 lead. 

86’ – Aaron Herrera’s cross connected with Damir Kreilach inside the box and his header ended in the back of the net to level the match at 2-2.
