FRISCO, Texas (July 30, 2025) – FC Dallas has acquired goalkeeper Jacob Jackson from San Diego FC in exchange for a natural third-round pick in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft, the club announced today.
Jackson, 25, began the 2025 season with San Diego FC after the expansion side selected him in Stage 1 of the 2024 MLS Re-Entry Draft. He made three regular season appearances and featured in one U.S. Open Cup match for the San Jose Earthquakes in 2024 before joining San Diego.
Originally selected 24th overall by the New England Revolution in the 2022 MLS SuperDraft, Jackson has primarily played in MLS NEXT Pro with New England Revolution II and The Town FC. Across more than 3,000 professional minutes, the San Diego native has recorded nine clean sheets and was named MLS NEXT Pro Goalkeeper of the Month in May 2022 after posting five consecutive shutouts.
Jackson played collegiately at Loyola Marymount University, where he was a two-time West Coast Conference Goalkeeper of the Year and set multiple program records, including most consecutive scoreless minutes in a season (560). He posted a 26-8-8 career record and finished sixth nationally in goals against average during his junior season.
