FRISCO, Texas (Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016) – FC Dallas has signed center back Norberto Paparatto, pending receipt of his ITC, the club announced today.
FC Dallas acquired the Right of First Refusal on Paparatto from the Portland Timbers in exchange for Targeted Allocation Money.
Paparatto began his career in 2005 at the age of 21 with Lanús of the Argentine first division. The defender transferred to Tigre, also of the Argentine first division, in 2007. In a seven-year stint with Tigre, Paparatto made over 120 appearances.

Paparatto was signed by Portland Timbers FC ahead of the 2014 season. He made his Major League Soccer debut in a 1-1 draw with the Philadelphia Union on March 8, 2014. The center back logged 1,500 minutes for Timbers FC in two seasons. Portland had a record of 11-2-6 in matches in which Paparatto appeared.
He logged 142 minutes, including 119 minutes against FC Dallas, in Portland’s 2015 MLS Cup Championship run. Since departing MLS this past offseason, Paparatto has appeared five times (450 minutes) for Atlético Rafaela of the Argentine first division.
