After his part in FC Dallas’ defensive (and offensive) efforts against San Jose Earthquakes, Matt Hedges has been named to MLSsoccer.com’s Team of the Week for week 18.
Hedges was apart of a defensive effort that saw the team push it’s shutout streak to 315 minutes, dating back to halftime of the June 19th loss at Sporting Kansas City. That streak is the third-longest among MLS teams this season.
Hedges helped his side hold on to a 1-0 lead for the majority of the second half behind four interceptions and eight clearances.
Hedges also tried his hand at maestro, nearly setting up fellow center back Walker Zimmerman for a goal.
Hedges and FC Dallas return to action Wednesday night in Seattle against the Sounders at 9:30 p.m.
