- FCDY 01B Central
- FCDY 05B Premier

U-16s Win Final Match 1-0, Miss Out on Quarterfinals
FC Dallas U16s would find a win 1-0 against Saint Louis FC U16s but it would not be enough for them to advance as they finished second in their bracket.
“The boys were disappointed going in because they knew we were out and for a young player that is something you have to learn how to deal with no matter what the circumstances are, play your best,” said U16s head coach Michael Vera.
FC Dallas would create several opportunities and connect in the second half.
Ilean
Castorenas with a header would attempt to score after a set piece. However, the play would
rebound
of a Saint Louis defender and he would aim once again with a right kick that once again rebounded. FC Dallas U16s would not give up and Brian Aguilar was able to finish off that rebound, scoring the only goal of the night for FC Dallas U-16s.

FC Dallas ended second with five points after two ties and one tie.
“Overall we had some fantastic moments in this tournament and we didn’t go through based on little details that the boys will definitely fix,” mentioned head coach Varas. “We will work as a team so that we can be strong in the future. We are happy because we won and we got second place in the group but we are doing some self-reflecting as a whole team, coaching staff and players to make sure that no matter what every single game we’re going to give 100 percent. We’re not going to take anything lightly no matter what.”

U-15s Finish Perfect in Group Stage
The FC Dallas U15s found a victory of 3-0 to TSF Academy and their ticket to quarterfinals tomorrow morning.
“That was an amazing game because that is a game that makes our job more fun because we get to see the boys enjoy it,” U15 head coach Michael Varas said. “They played very smart, very controlled, a very technical game with a lot of
spirit
. I hope that we can keep getting stronger as the tournament goes because if so we are going to be tough to beat.”
FCD started their match on the right foot in a very tactical game.
Roughly seven minutes into the match, FC Dallas U15 winger, Philip Akem was able to send a crossing pass from the right flank to Eduardo Ruiz. “Eddie” finalized the first goal of the night but it would not be his only goal in the match.

FC Dallas would have more confidence in the attack after that first goal. Just three minutes later they would find the second goal of the night. Once again, Eduardo Ruiz scoring for FCD. This time it was not an easy shot, Ruiz aimed with a header, a shot that rebounded of a TSF Academy defender. Luckily, Ivan Villatoro was at the right spot and recovered the ball, passing it back to Ruiz who finished the play.
With so many dangerous looks FC Dallas had more opportunities on the attack. Philip Akem also
known
as “PJ” would go on to take two defenders. However, an aggressive dive would stop him from reaching inside the box and giving FCD a penalty kick. Cesar Elizalde would go on to take it and score the third and final goal of the night.
Despite many more opportunities created on the second half FC Dallas U15s finished the match with a victory and their third win in the tournament. FC Dallas now has 9 points and sits first in their bracket. Now they focus on tomorrows big match.
“Tomorrow, quarterfinal 11 am it helps us bring momentum into the quarter-final,” mentioned Michael Varas. “The fact that we were able to use five subs, all of the subs that we had and all of them did well, it kind of gives the team a really good spirit going into the quarter-final because everybody knows they might be able to contribute and that they can contribute in a positive way.”
