We're down to just eight teams remaining in the NCAA Tournament and UNC's All-ACC center back and captain Boyd Okwuono is the lone FCD Academy representative left in the field.
Let's take a look at how our FCD Academy alumni finished their NCAA seasons:
Okwuono & UNC upset Clemson to advance to NCAA Quarterfinals
WATCH: UNC 2, Clemson 1
After an up and down start to their season, center back Boyd Okwuono and North Carolina are clearly peaking at the right time. The Tar Heels finished the regular season 7-0-1 but suffered a surprising 1-0 loss to Louisville in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals leaving them without a first round bye or home field advantage past the first round in the NCAA Tournament.
UNC easily defeated James Madison 6-0 at home in the first round before traveling to Charlotte and winning 2-1 in a hard-fought road match.
The win set up an all-ACC showdown against a Clemson side that UNC defeated 3-2 in overtime earlier this season.
The Tar Heels again defeated Clemson 2-1 behind a 71st-minute goal from Rob Lovejoy to send UNC to their sixth quarterfinal appearance in the last seven years.
They'll travel across the country for an NCAA soccer blue bloods quarterfinal matchup against #2 seed UCLA.
Senior Boyd "OC" Okwuono has started and played nearly every minute of the season as the center back leader and captain of the Tar Heels.
Furman falls on PK's at Washington
Sophomores Bobby Edet & Marco Ortiz played huge roles in Furman's run to the SoCon Tournament championship and their cinderella run in the tournament saw the Paladins sneak past UAB on penalty kicks in the NCAA Tournament first round.
Furman then played #14 seed Washington to a scoreless draw through 110 minutes and looked set to advance, but Ortiz had a potential game-winning PK saved and Washington went on to win in the subsequent rounds eliminating Furman.
Ortiz, a central midfielder, finished the year with two goals and three assists in 19 games while Edet, a center forward, finished with five goals and one assist in 22 games.
Florida Gulf Coast Exits NCAA Tournament in first round
With three FCD'ers making major contributions, Atlantic Sun-winning Florida Gulf Coast was a team to follow all season and they exited the NCAA tourney with a heartbreaking 1-0 defeat at Coastal Carolina in the first round.
The hosts found an 85th minute goal to eliminate FGCU at the first hurdle 1-0. Junior defender and captain Aaron Guillen started 19 games this year for the Eagles while freshman defender Kamar Mariott saw action in 16 games scoring once and junior midfielder David Robledo appeared in 15 games.
Other FCD'ers
Skylar Hagan and Old Dominion defeated St. Francis-Brookly 3-0 before falling in 2OT to Georgetown.
Mikey Ambrose and #4 Maryland suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 upset to UMBC.
Kris Reaves and Wake Forest were also victims of UMBC falling on penalty kicks in the first round.
Byron Knowles-Ramirez and Tulsa lost 2-0 to Saint Louis in the first round of the tournament.
