FRISCO, Texas (August 18, 2025) - The Lone Star EMMY® Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) has announced that Clark Hunt and Dan Hunt will be honored with the Governor’s Award at the 2025 Lone Star Sports EMMY® Awards on Monday, Aug. 25 at The Echo Lounge & Music Hall in Dallas.

The Governor’s Award is one of the chapter’s highest honors, presented to professionals who have made a significant impact in their industry and community. Past recipients include Dallas Cowboys Owner, President, and General Manager Jerry Jones (2018) and longtime SMU photographer Brad Bradley (2023).

Clark Hunt serves as Chairman and CEO of the Kansas City Chiefs and FC Dallas as well as the honorary Co-Chair of KC2026, while Dan Hunt is President of FC Dallas and Co-Chair of FIFA World Cup 26 Dallas. Together, they carry forward the legacy of their father, the late Lamar Hunt, a pioneering sports executive who founded the American Football League, coined the term “Super Bowl,” and helped launch the North American Soccer League.

Under their leadership, FC Dallas has become a cornerstone for the sport in North Texas - from the world-class Toyota Stadium and Soccer Center to the reimagined National Soccer Hall of Fame, home to some of the game’s most iconic figures. Their vision has extended beyond the pitch, driving transformative real estate projects that have fueled significant economic growth in Frisco and the surrounding region. FC Dallas has also produced elite talent for the U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Teams, including Ricardo Pepi, Chris Richards, Weston McKennie, and Jaedyn Shaw.

Through the FC Dallas Foundation, Clark and Dan have championed initiatives that build mini-pitches across North Texas, award community action grants to local nonprofits, and expand access to youth sports. They are also steadfast supporters of local journalism, recognizing the role of community storytelling in growing the game and connecting fans.

The Hunts also played instrumental roles in securing FIFA World Cup 2026™ matches for both Dallas and Kansas City. North Texas will host a tournament-high nine matches and the international broadcast center, while Kansas City will host six.

“This award is a testament not just to Clark and Dan’s vision as sports leaders, but also to their deep commitment to the communities they serve,” said Lone Star Emmy Chapter President Phyllis Slocum. “Their impact extends far beyond the field, shaping the growth of sports in Texas, inspiring future generations, and strengthening the cultural fabric of our state.”

The 2025 Lone Star Sports EMMY® Awards celebrate excellence in sports broadcasting and production across Texas. The ceremony brings together the top names in Texas sports media to celebrate excellence in broadcasting and honor individuals whose contributions have made a lasting mark on the industry and the communities it serves.
