FRISCO - Ecuador manager Gustavo Quinteros named his preliminary 40-man roster for the upcoming Copa America Centenario and it includes FC Dallas midfielder Carlos Gruezo. One of the youngest players in the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Gruezo has represented Ecuador on soccer's biggest stage at the World Cup, but has not featured for Ecuador since September 2015. The 40-man roster will be trimmed to 23 before Copa America begins on Friday, June 3rd.
Having just turned 21, Gruezo has appeared in nine of FCD's ten games this season and finds himself in the top ten in MLS in tackles, fouls committed and cards. Ecuador will play the United States in a friendly at Toyota Stadium on May 25th (TICKETS) and will face Brazil, Peru & Haiti in their Copa America Centenario group.
