FRISCO, Texas (Wednesday, June 29) – Anheuser Busch is now the official domestic beer partner of FC Dallas and Pizza Hut Park, the club announced today.
"The Budweiser team is excited to announce our new partnership with FC Dallas,” said Nick Vander Linden, Budweiser geographic marketing manager for North Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. “We are extremely proud of the club and look forward to building a relationship with the growing number of soccer fans through a sport and a team they are truly passionate about.”
With the new partnership, Pizza Hut Park’s popular beer garden will be renamed the Budweiser Beer Garden with drink specials at every FC Dallas game. There also will be a fan-selected, via text vote, Budweiser Man of the Match after every game.
The partnership will be immediately evident as the Budweiser Promo Girls will be at the Londoner in Frisco at 6 p.m. for the March to the Match at this Saturday’s game versus the Columbus Crew. The company also donated hundreds of tickets to Tickets for Troops, which underwrites complimentary tickets to military members and their families for the July 2nd game and fireworks show.
In addition to bringing fans the Budweiser Beer Garden and Budweiser Man of the Match each game, Budweiser is now the associate sponsor of the Rio Grande Plate derby between FC Dallas and Tigres. The two sides played in Monterrey, Mexico, earlier this year with Tigres claiming a 2-1 win. The second leg of the series is set for Pizza Hut Park on Sept. 3.
"We’re looking forward to developing our FC Dallas partnership with Budweiser this year and for many years to come,” said Matt McInnis, FC Dallas vice president of business development and partnership marketing. “There are several great opportunities that can be maximized at Pizza Hut Park but, more important, throughout the market at various retail outlets that allow us to grow both of our businesses.”
Finally, through Budweiser and FC Dallas, soccer fans will have the opportunity to test their skills on the pitch in the Budweiser Adult Summer Showdown at Pizza Hut Park Aug. 13-14. The amateur adult tournament will welcome 50-60 teams, who will compete for cash and prizes across multiple divisions. Participants must be 21 years of age or older to play in the tournament.
The defending Western Conference Champions, FC Dallas currently ranks second in the Western Conference with 31 points (9-4-4). For more information about the team or to purchase tickets, visit FCDallas.com or call 888.FCD.GOAL.
