This year's MLS All-Star game is set to take place at Avaya Stadium on July 28, where the best players in the MLS will take on English Premier League's Arsenal. You have until July 4th to cast your vote for the eight FC Dallas players who have been nominated for a spot on the team, including midfielder Michael Barrios. We could probably list a hundred reasons why you should vote for him, but here's just a few reasons why you should get Mikey on the All-Star team.
Blistering Pace
Barrios deserves your vote because while there might be taller, stronger players in the league, no one is beating this shifty midfielder in a footrace and if you don’t believe us, ask the host of defenders he’s left in the dust.
Big Names, Big Performance
Michael Barrios saves his best for the best. He’s scored five goals this season, all against 2015 MLS Cup Playoff teams. He’s ready to take on the heavyweights, including English power Arsenal. You want a guy who won’t fade under the bright lights.
Small, but Mighty
Barrios is tied with Sebastian Giovinco as the league’s shortest player at just 5’4” but everyone loves an underdog, right? It’s impossible not to root for Mikey as he jets around the field, finishing with critical accuracy and causing even the league’s best defenders to toss and turn in their sleep.
