Academy Wins Multiple End of Year Awards for Season and Postseason Performances

FRISCO, Texas- FC Dallas had multiple Academy players win awards from U.S. Soccer Development Academy when they released their 2018-2019 End of the Year Awards.


The awards honor those considered the best of each conference. Winners included Tanner Tessmann, Jonathan Gomez, and Johan Gomez on the Boys side. Johan Gomez also won Player of the Year in the Central conference. From the Girls Academy Jaedyn Shaw, and Sydney Richards were honored in the Best XI for the Central Conference as well.


The FC Dallas Academy had the most players selected for Best XI out of the clubs with players involved.

Academy Wins Multiple End of Year Awards for Season and Postseason Performances  -

Along with the Best XI, and Best Player Awards for the entire season, this year the Academy also added awards for the best postseason performances. FC Dallas also took multiple awards in this category as well.


The U19s Tanner Tessmann won the Golden Ball award for the U19 age group as the best player in the postseason tournament. Taylor Zdrojewski won the Golden Boot for the Girls U-15s as the top goal scorer in playoffs, and Jordyn Gunnarson won the Golden Glove for the Girls U-17s as the best goalkeeper.


FC Dallas had a dominant and impressive season across all their Academy teams, and the level of talent is shown through the number of awards the Academy has received at the end of the season. For a full list of the awards, and more information visit US Soccer Development Academy.
