Lead by an FC Dallas Academy player, The U.S. Under-19 Men’s National Team is headed to the 2016 Slovakia Cup final after its 2-1 victory against Ukraine.
Midfielder Weston McKennie has scored in both matches the USYNT has played in the tournament while captaining the side in both matches. He scored his team's fourth goal on an assist from Hugo Arellano in the first match of the tournament, a 5-1 victory against Georgia 5-1. McKennie grabbed the first goal of the second match in the 27th minute with help from Isaiah Young, which the U.S. won 2-1.
Weston's teammates on the FC Dallas U-18 Academy team goalkeeper Ben Hale and defender Hector Montalvo have also featured in the tournament as starters for the USYNT.
The U.S. will face Russia for the 2016 Slovakia Cup title on April 29 at Myjava Stadium (9 a.m. ET), but will still face Slovakia in its last group stage match on April 28.
