FRISCO - FC Dallas U-17 Girls' Academy midfielder Grainne O’Casey got her second opportunity to play with the Ireland Youth National Team last week in Portugal, where she gained international perspective on the game.
In her short time there, she was able to see cultures and perspective of soccer from Portugal, France, the Czech Republic and Ireland. Even though the focus was almost solely on soccer during her call-up, she said it's eye-opening to see the cultural differences in the way others approach the game.

“There were so many different cultures, but everyone plays soccer and you see the similarities. It helps you have a further understanding of the game," she said. "The opportunity to see how other people play, even just with the Irish girls. They viewed soccer similar to America but seeing those different cultures and perspectives was really cool.”
