ACADEMY: Girls' Academy Teams Head to Colorado for U.S. Soccer Development Academy Spring Showcase

FRISCO - Four Girls' Academy teams will travel to Colorado this weekend for the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Spring Showcase. The U-17s, U-16s, U-15s and U-14s will each play three games in four days in Commerce City, Colorado against teams from all over the country. 

"For the players, the exposure to college coaches and national scouts is second to none. Competition outside of our conference also allows us to see different styles of play and evolve our game in different ways. In our eyes, ultimately these events are essential for growth and development within the game." Girls' Academy Director and U-17 head coach Matt Grubb said."They allow us to measure ourselves against the best in the country both individually and collectively.  National events afford us, as a staff, the opportunity to see where we need to focus our energies in preparation for the national playoffs/finals, allowing us to see other potential future opponents."

The U-17s are currently ranked 23rd in the nation and will be facing Midwest United, who are currently placed at 7th in the nation, and Beach Futbol Club, who are ranked 14th . The U-15s are currently ranked 15th in the nation will face playoff bound teams including FC Virginia, who are ranked at 10th, the Legends, who currently sit at 12th, and So Cal Blues, who are ranked at 24th.
