The FC Dallas Academy wrapped up their final home matches of 2016 on November 19th at the Toyota Soccer Center against local opponents Dallas Texans looking to continue their hot start to the 2016-2017 season before they head off to the USSDA Winter Showcase in early December.

Francisco Molina's U-18s moved to 8-1-1 on the year with a come-from-behind win over Dallas Texans. Their opponents took the lead mid-way through the first half but recent Homegrown signing Jesus Ferreira pulled FCD back just before halftime.

Ferreira did it himself in the 45th minute slotting home the equalizer before just a couple minutes later picking the ball off a Texans midfielder and sliding it to Devin Vega who slotted home for his seventh goal of the season.

After a second half in which Texans threatened to score the equalizer on multiple occasions, FCD put the match out of reach in the 86th minute as forward Aldo Quevedo found space down the left side and found the back of the net to give FCD a 3-1 win.

U-16 | FC Dallas 3, Dallas Texans 2

The FC Dallas U-16s defeated Dallas Texas 3-2 in an exciting back-and-forth match on Saturday afternoon at the Toyota Soccer Center.

FC Dallas stepped on the gas from the start of the match with a relatively stiff wind at their backs and made the advantage count early. Prolific forward Brayan Padilla was able to sneak one past the Texans goalkeeper in the 17th minute to give FC Dallas a 1-0 lead on his 14th goal of the season.

Just under ten minutes later, Adrian Morales found some space on the left side and curled in a wonderful ball that young forward Johan Gomez was able to head into the goal to double the FC Dallas U-16 lead.

Soon after, a handball in the box saw FCD earn a penalty kick that Padilla slammed home for his 15th goal of the season giving FCD a 3-0 lead at halftime.

However, the Texans would battle back in the second half. A PK just seconds into the half would bring the opponents within 3-1 springing the game back to life. Just a few minutes later a wonderful finish down the right side slammed past goalkeeper Michael Collodi saw the visitors pull within a goal at 3-2.

FC Dallas would hold strong against a final onslaught to preserve the 3-2 win and earn three big points that keep them tied with Real Colorado at the top of the division standings with an 8-2-0 record.
