FRISCO - Eight FC Dallas Academy players have been called in across three U.S. National Teams for domestic camps in early June. 

ACADEMY: Eight FC Dallas Academy Players Called to U.S. National Team Duty in Early June -

Julian Hinojosa, Gibran Rayo, Thomas Roberts and Tanner Tessmann join the U-18s as they gather for the fourth training camp of the 2018-19 cycle from June 4-11 at the U.S. Soccer National Development Center in Kansas City, Kan.


Hinojosa has made an appearance in 24 games so far this season while starting in 22 of them for FC Dallas U-17s. Rayo has made 24 appearances and has started in 21 games for FC Dallas U-19s while tallying 10 goals so far this season. Roberts has played alongside Rayo on the U-19 squad and has started in 16 of 20 games this season. He also has eight goals on the season as well. Tessmann rounds out the call-ups boasting 11 goals in 24 appearances and 20 starts for Dallas U-17s.


The U.S. Under-16 Boys’ National Team and the U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team will hold concurrent training camps at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., from June 2-10. U.S. U-16 BNT head coach Shaun Tsakiris will lead both age groups during the camp as U-17 MNT head coach John Hackworth continues his duties across the pond, serving as an assistant coach for the U.S. Senior Men’s National Team.

Beni Redzic and David Rodriguez will join the U-17s, whose preparation continues for the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Peru. The 17s are gathering for the fifth time since the team first assembled to kick off the 2018-19 cycle at December’s 2017 Nike International Friendlies.


Teammates on FC Dallas U-17s, Redzic and Rodriguez earned their spots following a successful start to the 2017-18 season. Rezdic has started in all 18 appearances for FC Dallas and has added 15 goals to his stat line as well. Rodriguez has scored two goals on eight appearances and five starts.


Dante Sealy and Edwin Villarreal join the U-16s as they gather for the fourth time since their 2018-19 programming began, when the unit was part of the Men’s YNT Summit. After the Summit, the BNT held a domestic camp at the U.S. Soccer National Training Center in Carson, Calif. in March before traveling to Italy for the 15th Torneo delle Nazioni in April. There, the U.S. took home third place after impressive wins against Italy (1-0), Macedonia (2-0), Croatia (2-0) and Japan (2-0).


Sealy has 10 goals on the 2017-18 campaign for FC Dallas U-16/17 in 14 appearances and 11 starts. Villarreal currently has a three goals on 14 starts and appearances for FC Dallas U-15.
