FRISCO - With the Generation adidas Cup and Dallas Cup kicking off this weekend, take a look at each team's schedule and their biggest goals for the tournament.

The U-19s start the Dallas Cup off with both their beginning matches against international teams. Head coach Chuy Vera is ready for the challenge.


"They transfer the concepts and performance to the Dallas Cup," he said, focusing his group on increasing the label of the U-19s and using the international tournament and its reputation to build a foundation.

The U-17s are competing in the championship division of Generation Adidas Cup. They will be facing two international teams with West Ham United FC and Club America. West Ham's Academy is ranked 6th in their league with their professional counterpart ranking 11th in the Premier League. They will also face the New York Red Bulls, who have eight wins recorded this year. The GA cup adds a new level of competition to a team that has seen a lot of change and transition this season.


“It’s a lot to ask of a 16 year old," head coach Matias Asorey said, "but the fact they have these opportunities is good.”

The U-15 schedule is another competitive stretch of games. They will face Kent Schools FA, which consists of multiple districts coming together to compete in this tournament. They also will face the Boston Bolts, who have recorded 11 wins so far this year, and lastly face TSF Academy with hopes of advancing out of their group. Head coach Alex Aldaz has several of goals for this tournament.


"One, to evaluate our current crop of youth in the U-15s, and the other will be to compete, to win," he said. "The boys have to feel that pressure. There's no margin for error."

The U-14 team will play in the Univision Deportes Super 14s Group against SVSA DA, who has recorded 13 wins this season, as well as TSF Academy, who has eight wins, and Tigres UANL, who will be joining the international pool. 


"The boys are really excited to participate in the Super U14s," head coach Scott James said. "I am looking forward to see how our boys adapt to playing against different styles of teams in the must win environment."

The U-13's have had a trying schedule this year in preparation for this tournament. They have played against world-known teams such as Real Madrid, Manchester United and Club America, giving them an extra level of preparation for this upcoming week. They hope to continue their hot streak.


 "We want to see how the kids respond. It's not necessarily about just trying to win games, it's about looking at the individuals when they do play in big games and how they respond to the situations." head coach John Gall said. "At the end of the day for us as coaches we want them to perform well. We want the teams to play with FC Dallas concepts, great ideas, see what the other teams throw at us and find solutions."

The U-12 North team will be experiencing the Dallas Cup with a lot of players for the first time. Head Coach Toto Schmugge believes one of the biggest takeaways from this tournament is "it's good for them to see outside of the country. How they play in different countries and adapt that and bring it here." He also is looking forward to competing at a new level. 


"It's difficult sometimes but it's good learning experience for the boys to play out of a much higher intensity and pressure."

The U-12 South team is experiencing a new level of competition with Dallas Cup. Head Coach Tony Falcon's biggest goal for the upcoming schedule is, "to be prepared physically, mentally, and technically." Not only is this tournament about the competition but also representing the community. He hopes their performance will help to "continue to build on the program in South Dallas and the gain attention to the level of talent we have.”
