STORY LINES

Home Dominance
North Texas SC returns home to face Colorado Rapids 2 on Sunday. The last NTSC home game ended in a 3-1 win over Minnesota United FC 2. The game had a goal from captain Derek Waldeck scored a goal and FC Dallas Academy product Tarik Scott added a brace. North Texas SC will look to keep making Choctaw a fortress where it is difficult for away teams to secure points.

Pa-Modou Kah: "Our build up has been good, we are growing to get better. It was only our second game of the season. In both games you can see that we try to dominate the game and impose our will over the opposition."

Shootout Success Means Two Points
On April 2, North Texas SC visited Tacoma Defiance for their first road game of the season. Tacoma took the lead in the first half thanks to a goal from Ocampo-Chávez in the 27th minute of the match. North Texas SC found the equalizer through Bernard Kamungo in the 70th minute to send the match into the club’s first ever MLS NEXT Pro shootout. The shootout ended in the seventh round when defender Isaiah Parker slotted his penalty kick past Wyatt Nelson to win the shootout 6-5 and earn a bonus point in the standings for North Texas SC.

Isaiah Parker: "We practice our penalty kicks a lot at the end of practice. Right before the shootout they told us who the first five penalty takers were, and I ended up going seventh and winning the shootout for the team.”

Antonio’s Solid Start
Goalkeeper Antonio Carrera has been in goal twice for North Texas SC this season. Since making his debut,\\ Antonio has only conceded two goals from the 12 shots he has faced. Registering a total of 10 saves** in just 180 minutes, Antonio has been making it difficult for opponents to find the back of the net. In shootout win vs. Tacoma Defiance Antonio saved the first penalty kick of the shootout and won his first shootout in his MLS NEXT Pro career.

Pa-Modou Kah: “Antonio is a very young keeper and has the size for a keeper. He has that willingness to learn, get better and improve. He has played only two professional games and now we just got to keep him aiming to do better every single day.”

The Opponents
Colorado Rapids 2 tied 1-1 in their only game of the season. Midfielder Yosuke Hanya scored their first of the season in the 61st minute before conceding a late goal which would see the match head to shootouts. Colorado captured the extra point in the shootout winning 4-2.
