Welcome to the Fortress

At last, North Texas SC will finally be playing its home opener on Sunday as they prepare to host Whitecaps FC 2. The club is entering its fourth season at the famous Choctaw Stadium after announcing on January 24, the agreement to play in Arlington through the 2024 season. Since moving to Choctaw ahead of the 2020 season, North Texas SC holds a 18-3-12 record with 73 goals scored and 36 goals against. The club has held a 3-0-0 record on home openers at Choctaw Stadium, and a 4-0-0 home opener record all-time. Javier Cano will look to replicate previous success, as the clubs enters its second year in MLS NEXT Pro.

Player to Watch

A standout player in these first two games has been Tyshawn Rose. The left back flies up and down the left side contributing on both ends of the field. After two games, he leads the team in duels with 36 total. He has registered two interceptions, four dribbles, 76 passes and 29 accurate forward passes. Rose is a defender that likes to charge forward with the ball and even makes overlapping runs in the final third. The native of East Hartford, Connecticut has been making an impact in his rookie professional year and is looking to maintain that momentum heading into the home opener.

Get to Know Whitecaps FC 2

Whitecaps FC 2 are coming off a 1-1 draw with LAFC2, in which they won the extra point shootout. The Canadian side is led by head coach Ricardo Clark who was appointed ahead of the 2023 season and is off to a 1-0-1 start. A player to watch is forward Kamron Habibullah who has two goals and one assist in two starts. Habibullah made his professional debut for Whitecaps FC on May 8, 2021, and is one of the club’s homegrown players. WFC2 currently sit sixth in the Western Conference. North Texas defeated Whitecaps FC 2 1-0 thanks to a José Mulato goal in the first half of the match.

There are two options for parking at Choctaw Stadium: parking lots E and L. Fans are encouraged to purchase a prepaid parking ticket as day of game parking prices vary on events happening within the district. Ticket Information

Tickets can be purchased through the AXS app or in person at Choctaw Stadium. Fans can also purchase tickets online. Fans may purchase either general admission tickets for $20 or field level seats for $40.
