FRISCO, Texas (Jan. 18, 2023) – FC Dallas trio Paul Arriola, Jesús Ferreira and Paxton Pomykal have been called up to the annual U.S. Men’s National Team January Camp in Carson, California.

Arriola, 27, wrapped up his first season with FC Dallas scoring a career-high 10 goals and providing seven assists over 34 MLS matches. He earned MLS Player of the Month recognition in May after his stretch of five consecutive matches scoring at least one goal from May 7-28. Arriola also recorded season-high records in regular season appearances (32) and minutes (2,570). He has scored 10 goals in 48 appearances for the Stars and Stripes

Ferreira, 22, had his best goal-scoring season in MLS with a career-high 18 goals and recording six assists. He tied the club’s single season record for goals in a season, which is jointly held by Kenny Cooper (2008) and Jason Kreis (1999). He was named MLS Young Player of the Year and ranked No. 1 in the 2022 MLS 22 Under 22 presented by BODYARMOR. Ferreira was named to the 2022 FIFA World Cup roster for the USMNT and made his World Cup debut in the 3-1 Round of 16 loss to the Netherlands. He has seven goals in 16 caps for the USMNT.

Pomykal, 23, played a career-high 35 MLS games during the 2022 season, which included 31 starts and two playoff matches. The Dallas native also recorded five assists in 2,449 minutes last year, matching his season-high total of 2019. Pomykal earns his first USMNT call-up since the 2020 January camp. The FC Dallas midfielder earned his senior-team debut months earlier in the 1-1 draw against Uruguay on Sept. 10, 2019 in St. Louis.

USMNT assistant coach Anthony Hudson will oversee the USMNT camp alongside World Cup assistant coach B.J. Callaghan and Under-20 Men’s Youth National Team head coach Mikey Varas. The training camp will kick off Jan. 21 before the USMNT faces fellow 2022 World Cup participant Serbia on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles (9 p.m. CT; HBO Max, Universo, Peacock, Telemundo App). USMNT and South American power Colombia play on Saturday, Jan. 28 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California (6:30 p.m. CT; TNT, Telemundo, Peacock, Telemundo App).
