FRISCO, Texas (June 27, 2025) – MLS NEXT Pro and Liga BBVA Expansión MX today announced the 2025 MLS NEXT Pro Invitational will feature North Texas SC facing Club Deportivo Tapatío. The match will be played at Toyota Stadium on Saturday, July 26, at 7:30 p.m. CT and available to watch for free on MLSNEXTPro.com. Tickets will be available to purchase at ntsctix.com.
The 2025 MLS NEXT Pro invitational features the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Champion and the 2024-25 Liga BBVA Expansión MX Campeón de Campeones winner.

North Texas SC won the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro Champions on Nov. 9, 2024, at Toyota Stadium, completing a dramatic 3-2 comeback win over Philadelphia Union II. North Texas became the first club in league history to finish undefeated at home in both the regular season and playoffs. The match against Tapatío marks North Texas SC’s first full 90-minute international competitive match. NTSC played a 45-minute exhibition against Spanish side Sevilla Fútbol Club on July 17, 2019.

Club Deportivo Tapatío claimed the 2024 Liga BBVA Expansión MX Apertura title with a 5-3 aggregate win over Celaya. The team also secured the 2024-25 Campeón de Campeones defeating Leones Negros UdeG 3-1 on aggregate in the annual match between the Apertura and Clausura champions.
