ARLINGTON, Texas (July 3, 2025) – North Texas SC (7-6-3, 26 points) defeated MNUFC2 (6-6-2, 20 points) 3-1 at Choctaw Stadium Thursday night.
BLINK AND YOU’LL MISS IT
Forward Tarik Scott scored his fourth goal of the season just one minute and 19 seconds into the match, marking the fastest goal scored in club history in MLS NEXT Pro play. He ranks second all time, behind Ronaldo Damus, who scored 17 seconds into a match on Sept. 10, 2019. The Frisco, Texas, native added his fifth goal of the season in the 64th minute to complete his second brace of the year.
CAPTAIN SARVER EXTENDS THE LEAD
Forward Sam Sarver scored his 10th goal of the season in the 46th minute. Sarver is the fastest player for North Texas to score 10 or more goals in an MLS NEXT Pro season (16 games), and the second fastest overall behind Ronaldo Damus (15 games, USL League One). Sarver currently ranks second in the MLS NEXT Pro Golden Boot race.
